The character is a sorceress in the iconic franchise, which is set on the planet Eternia and blends medieval iconography with science fiction elements and primarily follows the longstanding battle between nemeses He-Man and Skeletor. The current iteration of the upcoming Masters of the Universe movie, after many years in production hell, sees Bumblebee director Travis Knight at the helm with Red, White & Royal Blue star Nicholas Galitzine playing He-Man.
Mattel Films has announced that Camila Mendes will be joining the cast of Masters of the Universe as Teela. The character was previously portrayed in the 1987 live-action feature adaptation of the property by Chelsea Field and has been voiced by a variety of actors in animated titles over the years, including Linda Gary, Venus Terzo, and Kimberly Brooks. No further information about Mendes’ iteration of the character is known at the time of writing, as plot details of the movie are being kept under wraps.
