Pressure has added another Oscar-nominated actor to the cast. The upcoming World War II drama stars Ripley, Fleabag, and All of Us Strangers‘ Andrew Scott as Meteorological Officer James Stagg, whose work was instrumental in the storming of the beach in Normandy. The D-Day thriller is also set to star Brendan Fraser, who recently won an Oscar for his performance in 2022’s The Whale, as President Dwight D. Eisenhower. The movie, which begins principal photography in September, will be directed by Hotel Mumbai‘s Anthony Maras.

Per Deadline, Kerry Condon has joined the cast of Pressure. The Oscar-nominated actor will Captain Kay Summersby, who was a British Mechanised Transport Corps member who became a key aide to President Eisenhower during the preparations for D-Day. The real-life Summersby, who died in 1975, wrote the memoir Eisenhower Was My Boss and the autobiography Past Forgetting: My Love Affair, which together were adapted into the 1979 miniseries Ike: The War Years starring Robert Duvall as Eisenhower and Lee Remick as Summersby.
